Gifted Endorsement Blended On-line
Course Two
Participants will acquire an understanding of instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting the unique learning needs of gifted students. Strategies for differentiating content, process, product, and learning environment will be addressed in this course. Participants will develop an interdisciplinary unit that incorporates differentiation strategies. This is the second course in the series. Participants must have completed Characteristics of the Gifted Course One.
The Gifted In-Field Endorsement Program is offered through four courses: 1. Characteristics of Gifted Students
2. Methods and Materials for Teaching the Gifted
3. Assessment of Gifted Students
4. Curriculum and Program Development for the Gifted
Teacher/Candidate Prerequisites
• Clear Renewable Georgia Teacher Certification
• Currently employed by a Georgia School System
• A minimum of two years of successful teaching experience
• Recommendations from two administrators (Professional Learning Director/Coordinator and your building principal) • Proficiency with technology • Mastery of GPS or appropriate QCC
Each course is 50 hours of class time.
