Course Description

This self-study course is offered by Google and is free of charge to those interested. The goal of this course is to help educators learn about computational thinking (CT), how it differs from computer science, and how it can be integrated into a variety of subject areas. As a course participant, you will increase your awareness of CT, explore examples of CT integrated into your subject areas, experiment with examples of CT-integrated activities for your subject areas, and create a plan to integrate CT into your own curricula.

Course: consists of five units including a two-part final project

Units: includes a group of lessons; each unit contains a mix of lessons and activities for four different groups:

o   Humanities teachers

o   Math teachers

o   Science teachers

o   Computer Science teachers

Target Audience:  Humanities, Math, Science, and Computing Educators

If you choose DISTRICT/SYSTEM PAY as your payment method, the district must submit a system check to pay for the class. Please make payable to Oconee RESA and send to address below.

Withdrawal/Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received before the registration deadline. Withdrawals/Cancellations received after the registration deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be refundable.
