Gifted Endorsement Blended On-line
Course One Participants will acquire knowledge of the characteristics of gifted learners including special populations. Cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral characteristics of gifted children necessitate different instructional designs. This course will address methods by which the unique characteristics can be addressed in instruction and learning environment. This is the foundation course for the gifted endorsement program and is a prerequisite for the other three courses.
The Gifted In-Field Endorsement Program is offered through four courses: 1. Characteristics of Gifted Students
2. Methods and Materials for Teaching the Gifted
3. Assessment of Gifted Students
4. Curriculum and Program Development for the Gifted
Teacher/Candidate Prerequisites
• Clear Renewable Georgia Teacher Certification
• Currently employed by a Georgia School System
• A minimum of two years of successful teaching experience
• Recommendations from two administrators (Professional Learning Director/Coordinator and your building principal) • Proficiency with technology • Mastery of GPS or appropriate QCC
Each course is 50 hours of class time (5 PLUs).
