Course Description

Reading Endorsement Course 2

The  Reading Endorsement is a blended program specifically for PreK-12  classroom teachers wishing to add reading expertise to their current  State of Georgia Teacher Certification. The endorsement is designed to  help meet the literacy needs of the students, regardless of content  area. The program meets the competencies required by the Professional  Standards Commission’s Georgia Reading Endorsement. Emphases include  understanding readers and the reading process, linking assessment and  instruction, and exploring specific instructional strategies that can be applied in individual classroom contexts.

Candidates must meet the following criteria to apply for the 2019-2020 Reading Endorsement Cohort:  

  • Must have a clear & renewable Georgia Teaching Certificate
  • Must be employed by a Georgia school system
  • Must have two (2) letters of recommendation: one from District Curriculum Director and one from building-level administrator or a GaTAPP Director
  • Must have two (2) years of successful teaching experience
  • Must be committed to completing the program

If you choose PERSONAL PAY as your payment method, you must submit a money order or cashier's check to pay for this class prior to the first day of class.

If you choose DISTRICT/SYSTEM PAY as your payment method, the district must submit a system check to pay for the class. Please make payable to Oconee RESA and send to address below.

Withdrawal/Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received before the registration deadline. Withdrawals/Cancellations received after the registration deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be refundable.
