Course Description
This course explores the basics of instructional knowledge needed to be an effective instructional leader. The focus is on approaches to supervisory practices and strategies to bring about improvement in the capacity of schools to improve student achievement by improved teaching and learning processes. The emphasis of this course will be on school leaders as instructional leaders. 

 
Admission Requirements 
Candidates for the Teacher Support and Coaching Endorsement must meet the following requirements to apply for the endorsement. 
  
• A valid, level 4 or higher Professional, Advanced Professional, or Lead Professional Teaching Certificate,   Leadership Certificate, Life Certificate, or Service Certificate 
• Recommendation for participation by their employing principal or school level leadership 
 
 
COURSE OBJECTIVES:    
At the completion of this course, candidates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the following: 
• Instructional Knowledge: Participants will demonstrate applied knowledge of the Georgia TKES Performance Standards and Indicators. 
• Informal and Formal Classroom Observations: Participants will demonstrate the ability to plan and conduct informal and formal classroom observations. 
• Portfolio Management: Participants will demonstrate the ability to create quality portfolios.

Registration for courses must be received prior to the registration deadline. Your registration status will remain pending until we have received approval from your system Professional Learning Coordinator and registration fee. The registration fee must be submitted immediately. 

If you choose PERSONAL PAY as your payment method, you must submit a money order or cashier's check to pay for this class prior to the first day of class.

If you choose DISTRICT/SYSTEM PAY as your payment method, the district must submit a system check to pay for the class. Please make payable to Oconee RESA and send to address below.

Withdrawal/Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received before the registration deadline. Withdrawals/Cancellations received after the registration deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be refundable.
