I. Course Description
Assessment & Program Implementation for the Gifted provides an overview of the various assessment tools used to identify the gifted learner, as well as, an overview of program models utilized to create enriching environments for gifted students. The course also prepares participants to use various types of classroom assessments appropriately to meet the needs of gifted students.
II. Rationale
The responsibilities of teachers of gifted students include the identification of candidates for this program. In order to accomplish this task, they must be able to select, administer, and interpret assessment instruments that meet the requirements specified by the standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Teachers of gifted students must also be able to use a wide variety of classroom assessments to meet the unique learning needs of their students. In addition, teachers must design, implement, and evaluate effective gifted programs.
III. Course Objectives and Outcomes
This course will address the following course objectives and outcomes as aligned to the Council for Exceptional Children Standards specified by the Professional Standards Commission (505-3-.21).

Registration Fees are posted for each course.
Cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received by the registration deadline. Any cancellations received after the deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be returned. If cancellation is not made and registrant does not attend the course, the status will be "No Show" and payment will still be required.
