Course Description

Class Notes

This meeting is for district and/or school level designees interested in learning more about school climate services provided by Metro RESA.

Metro RESA is excited to announce new offerings around our school climate work.  Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is only one facet of the services that our school climate team is able to offer, and we are excited to share some new opportunities with you.  We will host an informational meeting to introduce these services and make connections on Wednesday, May 30.  You may choose one of two sessions:  9:30 AM until 11:30 AM or 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM.  (Sessions are the same.)  Registration links are listed below.  Services discussed will include:

  • Early Learning Climate Modules:  Metro RESA has led the way in bringing school climate practices to PreK-3rd Grade.  The grant work that is completing this year has been recognized nationally as being an innovative way to ensure a positive learning climate for our littlest learners.  Michelle Sandrock, School Climate Specialists for Metro RESA, will share examples of the professional learning modules, videos, and resources that are available to your district at no cost.

  • Mental Health Training:  RESAs will collaborate with state organizations to offer mental health training to our member districts during the 2018-2019 school year.

  • Wrap Around Services:  Metro RESA will assist districts and/or schools who are interested in exploring more about wrap around services during the 2018-2019 school year.

  • Crucial Conversations (VitalSmarts) Training:  Two Metro RESA specialists will be available to redeliver Crucial Conversations training to schools and districts across the Metro area. This training would be an excellent opportunity for new and experienced school leaders alike.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CANCELLATION POLICY BEFORE YOU REGISTER!

Metro RESA makes every effort to provide high quality professional learning experiences at low costs to teachers in the Metro Atlanta area. Because we often have to pay instructors, rental fees for locations, and for materials, we must make decisions at least two weeks in advance about cancellation of classes when we do not have enough registrants.

Therefore, our cancellation/no show policy is as follows:

  • If you choose PERSONAL PAY as your payment method: You must use a credit card to complete your registration for all classes with Metro RESA.  We will happily issue a refund for any class as long as you notify us that you need to cancel AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE CLASS.  You will be refunded via the same method of payment within two business weeks.
  • If you choose SCHOOL PAY as your payment method: Your school will be notified of all no-shows and invoiced for no-shows and/or cancellations made less than two weeks prior to class.
  • If you choose DISTRICT PAY as your payment method: Your district will be notified of all no-shows and invoiced for no-shows and/or cancellations made less than two weeks prior to class.

THIS POLICY APPLIES TO ALL METRO RESA CLASSES EXCEPT GEORGIA TAPP, ALTERNATIVE CERTIFICATION CLASSES AND ANY TRIPS.

Refunds and reimbursements are not transferable to other classes. Refunds for cancellations (if the participant cancels at least two weeks prior to class OR if Metro RESA cancels the class) will be processed within two business weeks of the date of the course.
