Course Overview
The Applied Behavior Analysis for Practitioners course will provide training on behavioral principles and procedures for individuals seeking Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. This course includes face to face lectures and application activities in ethics, observation and data collection, skill acquisition plans and procedures, and behavior reduction plans and procedures. This training program is based on the Behavior Analyst Certified Board (BACB) RBT Task List and is designed to meet or exceed the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT credential. The program is offered independently of the BACB and is unique in that we offer the course as a face to face interactive option so participants can interact with their instructors live. Persons are encouraged to register for each individual session which serves as a full RBT course if they are interested in registering to take the RBT exam. Once registered, you must complete the course within 180 days. However, persons can also register to take individual components of the RBT course to build expertise in each of the content respective areas which is essential for every paraprofessional, teacher, and educator who work with students with challenging behaviors. A certificate of course completion will be issued to persons who register and complete all six sections of the RBT course upon initial registration.
Course Format
All 6 sections of the course will be taught face to face as a side by side to our online RBT course. Which consists of 6 online modules, each containing a narrated presentation and a 10-question exam at the end of each module. Successful completion of the course requires sequential completion of each module and exam with at least 90% accuracy. You have 2 attempts at each exam. Any additional attempts will need approval by the BCBA overseeing the course. Failure to pass the exams will result in failing the course. Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of completion. You then must complete the other requirements for use which then will provide the student with a Certificate of Completion for use with additional requirements (see below) to attain the RBT credential.
