Course Description

GACE Paraprofessional Assessment Test Preparation

The GACE® Paraprofessional assessment measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing, and math possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals.  It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction.

This assessment is taken by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals to demonstrate that they are knowledgeable in reading, writing, and math, and that they are capable of assisting in classroom instruction.

Test takers have 2 1/2 hours to complete the assessment.

The test has 90 selected-response questions, approximately two-thirds of which focus on basic skills and knowledge.  The remaining one-third focuses on applying skills in the classroom.  All test questions are in English.

The GACE® Paraprofessional assessment is reported as a scaled score with a scale of 100 to 300. The passing standards for the GACE® Paraprofessional assessment is 250.

If participant does not receive a passing grade on this test,

he/she will need to wait 30 days before retaking the test.

NOTE: Application Fee is $5. This is nonrefundable. If you are unable to attend the session you are registered for, please contact Debbie Grimes at debbie.grimes@negaresa.org to cancel or reschedule. NEGA RESA has a waiting list for parapro testing.
