Course Description

To participate in this course

participant must be enrolled in the ESOL Endorsement program.

The program consists of three courses:

  • Cultural Issues in Teaching ESOL,
  • Methods & Materials for Teaching ESOL, and
  • Applied Linguistics for Teaching ESOL.

Each course consists of 50 total contact hours (5 SDUs). Participants must complete and pass all three courses to receive the ESOL Endorsement.

Registration Requirements

To register for the ESOL Endorsement Program, all registrations must include the following:

  • ESOL Endorsement Application Form
  • Memorandum of Agreement
  • Written recommendation of current principal or other appropriate supervisor in the employing system;
  • Written statement of personal and professional characteristics that would indicate the likelihood of being successful in the work of an ESOL teacher;
  • Valid clear, renewable Georgia teaching certificate; and
  • Copy of college transcript.
