Course Description

To participate in this course

participant must be enrolled in the ESOL Endorsement program.

The program consists of three courses:

  • Culture Issues in Teaching ESOL
  • Applied Linguistics for Teaching ESOL, and
  • Methods & Materials for Teaching ESOL

Each course consists of 50 total contact hours (5 SDUs). Participants must complete and pass all three courses to receive the ESOL Endorsement.

Registration Requirements

To register for the ESOL Endorsement Program each applicant must complete and submit the following information:

  • ESOL Endorsement Program Application Form (download from Professional Development Page);
  • NEGA RESA Registration Form for each course; Written recommendation of current principal and one from appropriate supervisor in the employing system;
  • Written statement of personal and professional characteristics that would indicate the likelihood of being successful in the work of an ESOL Teacher;
  • Copy of a valid clear, renewable Georgia teaching certificate; and
  • Copy of college transcript.
