Course Description
Leading Literacy is a heavy lift! Whether you are district leader, building leader, or grade level leader, the year begins before the current year ends. Testing in done and awards day is next but what’s in the plans for next year? During this session, we will work on laying the groundwork for the upcoming school year by asking the right questions. “When in doubt, we ask questions. When certain, observe at length, and ask many more questions,” George S. Patton Jr. Using the Griffin RESA 5 why protocol, we will delve into many questions in order to get ahead of the curve and plan ahead. These questions will get us started:  what did

our last data set say compared to our first data set, what were small wins, what were our big wins, what does professional development look like, what do our students and teachers need, what worked and didn’t work this year, what professional development do I need, what did I not get to this year, and what do I need to feel successful? End your year re-energized and connected to others who are striving to ensure we meet the educational needs of all students and prepare them for success.

Instructor will share strategies and resources that will support TKES Standards 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, and 8 with practical takeaways that will positively impact teacher practice and student achievement.
