Course Description
Social Data (35-50 Minutes)
This session focuses on attendance, enrollment history, and course grades. This session is not just a “point & click” demonstration, but rather a “WHY” & “WHAT” the data can be used for. This session stresses why the social data within SLDS is important to help teachers “read the student’s story.” The trainer will model for the attendees how to identify a student’s past social behavior that may have influenced the student’s academic performance. The session will allow ample time for hands-on participation by the attendees.
Prerequisite: “Data Overview” training.
 
Lexile – Reading Comprehension (35-50 Minutes)
This session focuses on literacy/competency data and the use of that data. This session is not just a “point & click” demonstration, but rather a “WHY” & “WHAT” the data can be used for. This session stresses why the Lexile data within SLDS is important to establish literacy strategies. The trainer will model for the attendees how to identify students that struggle with reading comprehension. The session will allow ample time for handson participation by the attendees.
Prerequisite: “Data Overview” training.
