Course Description

Essentials of Effective Teaching is the ten-day prerequisite for entering the Teacher Alternative Preparation Program (TAPP). This course is designed to introduce best practices in teaching and learning for accepted candidates pursuing teaching certification through this alternative program. All TAPP candidates must successfully complete this course for their school system to apply for an Intern certificate. If you have questions about TAPP, please contact us at 770-228-7317 x 218.

THIS CLASS IS ONLY OPEN TO APPROVED TAPP AND PRE-TAPP CANDIDATES WITH COMPLETED APPLICATIONS. Because this two-week course is required for Georgia teacher certification, registrants must attend all sessions. Essentials of Effective Teaching sessions take precedence over school or system-based pre-planning, induction, and other professional learning events, due to Professional Standards Commission requirements.
