Culturally Proficient Practices for Inclusive Communities
A Job-Embedded Learning Series
Defining diversity and inclusiveness in the context of our continuously evolving cultural landscape is a challenge for educators as we seek to bridge the gap between home and school cultures. Equally daunting is the challenge of meeting the needs of diverse learners with varying socioeconomic statuses, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and learning styles. These sessions will unpack culturally responsive teaching, social justice, and courageous leadership strategies. We will examine what it means to disrupt inequity to create inclusive learning environments and communities through a series of five (5) learning modules. The 1st Learning Module will focus on understanding CRP in theory and practice. Modules 2-5 will provide an intimate space to talk about specific topics with job-alike counter-parts to provide solutions and create an action plan for your class or organization.
