Course Description

Gifted Endorsement Blended On-line  

Course Two 

Participants will acquire an understanding of instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting the unique learning needs of gifted students. Strategies for differentiating content, process, product, and learning environment will be addressed in this course. Participants will develop an interdisciplinary unit that incorporates differentiation strategies. This is the second course in the series.  Participants must have completed Characteristics of the Gifted Course One.

 

The Gifted In-Field Endorsement Program is offered through four courses:
1.  Characteristics of Gifted Students

2.  Methods and Materials for Teaching the Gifted

3.  Assessment of Gifted Students

4.  Curriculum and Program Development for the Gifted

 

Teacher/Candidate Prerequisites

•  Clear Renewable Georgia Teacher Certification 

•  Currently employed by a Georgia School System

•  A minimum of two years of successful teaching experience

•  Recommendations from two administrators (Professional Learning Director/Coordinator and your building principal)
•  Proficiency with technology
•  Mastery of GPS or appropriate QCC

 

Each course is 50 hours of class time.

Attendance at all class meetings is required.
THIS IS A COMBINATION ONLINE AND FACE TO FACE COURSE.

Participant should complete the online registration for all four classes and the application for the endorsement program.  This application should be submitted with two(2) letters fo reference to Oconee RESA no later than July 27, 2018.

Participants will need to provide their own textbooks.

Registration for courses must be received prior to the registration deadline. Your registration status will remain pending until we have received approval from your system Professional Learning Coordinator and registration fee. The registration fee must be submitted immediately. 

If you choose PERSONAL PAY as your payment method, you must submit a money order or cashier's check to pay for this class prior to the first day of class.

If you choose DISTRICT/SYSTEM PAY as your payment method, the district must submit a system check to pay for the class. Please make payable to Oconee RESA and send to address below.

Withdrawal/Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received before the registration deadline. Withdrawals/Cancellations received after the registration deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be refundable.
