Course Description
Participants will (a) explain the importance of teaching social emotional skills; (b) identify strategies to enhance children’s emotional literacy skills and help children learn to control anger and impulse; (c) identify strategies for teaching children problem solving skills/strategies;(d)identify methods for individualizing emotional literacy instruction;(e) understand the meaning of self-regulation;(f)understand how children and adults react and respond as it relates to various brain states; (g)understand the importance of teaching children to self-regulate; (h)identify strategies for teaching children to self-regulate;(i)identify a variety of friendship skills and specific strategies for teaching them to children;(j)discuss how the environment supports friendship skills, and; k)create and identify activities to promote friendship in the classroom. Recommended for elementary or pre-kindergarten teachers and staff.

If you choose DISTRICT/SYSTEM PAY as your payment method, the district must submit a system check to pay for the class. Please make payable to Oconee RESA and send to address below.

Withdrawal/Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received before the registration deadline. Withdrawals/Cancellations received after the registration deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be refundable.
