Course Description
This self-directed online course provides an overview of the characteristics, programs, and appropriate teaching strategies for students with disabilities. An introduction to the federal and state laws, rules, and regulations, Individualized Education Programs, working with parents of students with disabilities, and issues of diversity/multiculturalism will also be covered. 
 
You have up to 12 weeks to complete the class.
 

Requirements for the class:

A book is required for this class.  The book is the Exceptional Learners An Introduction to Special Education, Eleventh Edition.  ISBN# 978-0-205-57104-8.  

You can purchase a used copy online fairly cheap from Half.com or Amazon.com.  Another option would be to rent a book from places such as www.bookrenter.com, textbookrentals.com, etc.

Your registration status will remain pending until we receive the registration fee and approval from your system Professional Learning Coordinator. The registration fee must be submitted immediately. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received by the registration deadline. Any cancellations received after the deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be returned. If cancellation is not made and registrant does not attend the course, the status will be "No Show" and payment will still be required.
