Course Descriptions

Middle Georgia RESA’s Student Support Coordinator Endorsement is designed to prepare individuals to serve as Student Support Team Coordinators in P-12 schools and districts.  The program is designed to equip districts and schools with highly effective coordinators who possess the skills, knowledge and dispositions to lead the multi-tiered system of support. The program consists of two courses with ongoing, embedded clinical practice/field experience. Course 1 builds candidate’s knowledge, skills, and dispositions to accomplish the work. Course 2 builds expertise through practice implementing both school wide MTSS/SST and individual student support cases. This approach to learning will allow the SST Coordinator to design, implement, and monitor a program or processes for effective Multi-Tiered Systems at the school or district level.

Course 1:   Foundations of Intervention through the MTSS/SST Process

Course 1 requires nine online learning modules for acquisition of knowledge as the instructional phase. Modules require reading, research, discussions, and product creation. Timely field practice is carefully coordinated with the learning. Candidates complete a total of 50 hours of field experience following a gradual release model.
