Course Description

Trauma 101 for School Professionals

This four hour workshop will provide participants with the foundational knowledge about child trauma and child traumatic stress.  Three types of child trauma are defined. The workshop focuses on the impact of complex trauma behavior and development, and helps particpants identify strategies for working with children who have experienced trauma. 
Topics include:
a) Definitions and types of child trauma 
b) How trauma affects children and youth
c) Overview of impact of trauma on the brain 
d) Managing physical and psychological safety for children
e) Enhancing child well-being and resilience

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received by the registration deadline. Any cancellations received after the deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be returned. If cancellation is not made and registrant does not attend the course, the status will be "No Show" and payment will still be required.
