Course Description

Paraprofessionals play a critical role in helping teachers and students in the school environment.  Our online course offers paraprofessionals with essential tools to help them improve their craft.

The seven modules will focus on the following:

Roles and Responsibilities

Special Education Overview

Ethics, Professionalism, and Confidentiality

Collaboration

Managing Student Behavior

Instructional Strategies

Self-Care and Mindfulness

Class Notes

Distribution date of the book will be provided prior to the class start date.  More information will be sent via email.  The online modules are set up to be completed on your own schedule. It is not required to log-in at specific times; but you will have eight weeks to complete the course.
 
One virtual tutorial session of the learning platform will be provided on January 25th from 4:30-5:30.

Registration Policy:

Registration for courses must be received online prior to the registration deadline. Space is limited and is based on first come, first serve basis. Your registration status will remain pending until we receive the registration fee and approval from your system Professional Learning Coordinator. The registration fee must be submitted immediately. We currently accept credit cards (except American Express), cash, checks, or money orders.  If mailing your fee, please make payable to Middle Georgia RESA and send to:

Registration Fees are posted for each course.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received by the registration deadline. Any cancellations received after the deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be returned. If cancellation is not made and registrant does not attend the course, the status will be "No Show" and payment will still be required.
