Bio

District State Rep. Mike Harris was first elected to serve the 43rd District in the Michigan House of Representatives in May 2022. The 43rd District encompasses part of Oakland County including part of Waterford Township, the city of Lake Angelus, the village of Clarkston and Independence Township.

Committees Rep. Harris serves as a member of the Energy, Insurance, and Transportation Committees.

Education Rep. Harris attended Mott Community College where he majored in criminal justice. He then attended the police academy at Delta College.

Professional Before taking office, Rep. Harris served with the Waterford Township Police department for 26 years.

Public Office and Affiliations Rep. Harris served as the local union president for the Patrol Officer's Association and then also the Command Officer's Association. He also served on the Executive Board of the Michigan Association of Police and the Waterford Coalition for Youth. He is a member of the Sons of the American Legion; member & instructor of Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners; member of Clarkston Chamber & Waterford Chamber; member of Clarkston Rotary (Later this week) Personal Rep. Harris has been married to his wife Jennifer for 8 years and they live in Clarkston. They have 6 children. During his free time, he likes to travel, boating on Lake Oakland, golf, and participate in shooting sports.
