BioMarta was born and raised in Deer Lodge, Montana, where she was the youngest of six children. Upon graduation from Powell County High School, Marta attended and graduated from the US Air Force Academy. She then served as a Space Operations officer on active duty and in the reserves, where she honed her leadership skills. While in the Air Force, Marta married Joe Chapman and they were blessed with two children, Marrin and Cecelia "Celi". No matter where she lived, her love for Montana and its people never subsided and has given her the drive to continue to fight for future Montanans. Marta has spent much of her life as a public servant. When her girls were younger, Marta volunteered in their classrooms, the PTA, church, as a coach, as a trustee on the Montana City School Board, and ultimately serving in her current position in the House of Representatives for House District 75. In 2014 Marta got her real estate license and in 2016 opened Uncommon Ground, LLC where she shares ownership with four businesswomen.
