Bio

Jay Cobb was born in Dallas, Texas, but raised in the suburbs of Philadephia (very close to Valley Forge National Historic Park). He first moved to Utah in 1989 to attend college at Brigham Young University. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Utah Ogden Mission. Jay graduated from BYU with a degree in Economics in 1996 and went on to attend the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. After graduating with honors, he returned to Utah and began practicing law at Fabian & Clendenin (now Fabian VanCott). In 2001, Jay moved to Washington, D.C., where he practice law in a large international law firm. He also spent a few years working in the United States Senate as Legislative Counsel to a U.S. Senator. In 2005, Jay returned to Utah to attend business school at BYU. He graduated with an MBA in 2007. Since then Jay has lived in South Jordan (Daybreak) and has worked for several different companies as in-house legal counsel. He and his wife also started a small digital textile printing business which produces specialty fabrics.

Jay Cobb and his wife April have been married for twenty-two years. They met while attending the BYU Jerusalem Center program during their undergraduate years. Seven years after returning from the program they were married. They are proud parents of four incredible children. The oldest graduated from Riverton High School and attended Brigham Young University. She is currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Cape Verde Praia mission. The second oldest graduated from Herriman High School and attends Brigham Young University. The middle son is a Sophomore in high school and is enrolled in the International Baccalureatte program. The youngest is in seventh grade. April is active in the community and recently founded the BYU Jerusalem Center Alumni Association.
