Bio

In my years in the legislature, I'VE BEEN YOUR VOICE OF BALANCE AND REASON as I've worked to represent you on Capitol Hill.

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City and have spent the past 25 years living in Murray, Utah, where I have had the honor of serving the citizens of House District 35 as your Representative. I hold a BA degree Human Resource Management from Westminster College and have over 25 years experience working in the field of human resource management. I was honored to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award from Westminster College.

Through the years, I have fought for legislation supporting our schools and our students. I've supported legislation which ensured teachers are paid additional professional development hours. I've worked to give municipalities the power to clean up "meth homes" in their neighborhoods and have backed legislation that made childcare accessible for all Utahns.

I've advocated for full-day kindergarten and worked to eliminate sales tax on food. I've pushed for resources to keep the Great Salt Lake healthy and thriving.

I voted no on the ban on participation of transgender students in school athletics.

I voted against the 2023 redistricting maps and voted for Free Fare February which gave UTA riders a month to ride UTA for free.

Currently, I serve on the following committees in the House- Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee, House Ethics, House Judiciary and Administrative Rules.

As your Representative, it has been my pleasure to serve you. I would be honored to continue that service. I represent YOU. So, if there's an issue that's important to you, then it's important to me. I'm always open to your ideas. Call or email me - I'd appreciate hearing from you.
