Bio

The Utah State Legislature needs principled representation to build a vibrant Utah. Cory Maloy was elected to the Utah House of Representatives in 2016 and is currently serving his second term.

As the Utah House Representative for District 6, Cory is a strong voice for reasonable and rational solutions. He uses his principles and integrity to guide his hand in creating policy. With each piece of legislation, Cory asks whether or not his vote represents you and your families.

Cory has worked for more than 25 years as a public relations strategist. His experience includes collaboration with some of the best PR firms and corporations in the country. Today, he is the founder and principal of Maloy PR, located in Lehi, the heart of Silicon Slopes.

For five years, Cory represented Utah District 6 as Leg. Chair for the Utah County Republican Party. As Chair he earned a reputation for bringing precinct officers and delegates together on several occasions to fight for conservative issues that ultimately helped drive Party direction and outcome to protect the relevancy of delegates and the caucus system. He believes the strength of a unified group can 'move mountains' in the political process.

Cory also served as a leader and officer in the Utah County Republican Party (UCRP) as a county and state delegate, a precinct chair, as Volunteers Officer and PR and Media Officer on the Steering Committee of the UCRP.

Cory has the experience to continue serving as House Representative. Cory has shown leadership and service in the Utah House of Representatives and the Republican Party. His business experience has brought critical people together to help build successful corporations through his communications work. Cory is uniquely qualified through service and business to build a vibrant Utah. Cory works well with the people of District 6 and with those in the House and Senate. He has earned a reputation as a builder and unifier.

Cory attended Ricks College in Idaho where he received an associates degree in business. He later attended Brigham Young University earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with an emphasis in public relations.

While at BYU, Cory worked as a reporter and editor at the Daily Universe where he covered the Provo City Council beat, the first flight of NASA's space shuttle two years after the Challenger explosion, the massive wildfires in Yellowstone National Park, and other important news stories. His writing earned him the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Circle Award for news writing among four-year colleges.

During his college career, Cory worked in the student-run Bradley PR Agency and developed a communications program for a local trucking company. He also wrote for the Utah County Journal and published a newsletter on education for a group of the Provo School District.

Cory served a full-time proselyting mission to teach and preach about Jesus Christ to the people living in the Alaska Anchorage Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During his mission, he learned to love people of many diverse backgrounds and beliefs and strengthened his resolve to become friends with everyone.

Cory and his wife Linda reside in Lehi, Utah and have three children and three grandchildren. He remains actively engaged in politics and serves or has served the community in numerous capacities, including- Board Member and Executive Board Member of The Point of the Mountain Chamber of Commerce. Cory is an Eagle Scout and recently was recognized as an Outstanding Eagle for service to the community by the Utah National Parks Council.
