Bio

Dan Howell is a dedicated public servant and community leader serving as the Representative for District 22 in the Tennessee State Legislature. With a strong commitment to his constituents in Meigs, Polk and Bradley Counties and a passion for making positive change, Dan has been an influential voice in state politics.

He is known for his accessibility and willingness to listen to the needs of those he represents. Dan believes strongly in the importance of constituent engagement and makes it a priority to stay connected with the people he serves, through community events and one-on-one conversations.

Dan Howell has deep roots in the community he serves. He attended Lee University and prior to his political career, he was an anchor for WDEF-TV in Chattanooga and later served as Senior Anchor/Managing Editor for WDSI FOX-61 in Chattanooga. His upbringing instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and service to others, which have guided his career in public service.

Dan Howell's journey into politics began with a desire to give back to his community and make a difference in the lives of his fellow Tennesseans. He first entered public office in 2013 as representative of District 22, where he quickly gained a reputation for his effectiveness, leadership, and willingness to work across party lines to find solutions to pressing issues.

Dan Howell is married to Beverlee and is the father to three sons. Dan and his wife, reside in Polk County. They enjoy spending time outdoors, listening to good music, traveling, good food and the beach.
