Bio

Mitch Addison Whitaker is a strong conservative Republican, unwavering in his commitment to the values and principles that we hold dear here in the mountains. Born and raised in the Eastern Kentucky Coalfields, Mitch is not a politician; he's a dedicated servant, deeply rooted in our conservative values.

A graduate of Letcher County Central High School in 2011, he continued his education at the University of Kentucky, earning a degree in agricultural economics. While in college, Mitch interned with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

His passion for justice led him to the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he emerged as a voice for the mountains, serving as president of the Appalachian Law Caucus. His passion for public service led him to serve as Chairman of the Letcher County Republican Party, and now he's running for State Representative to make sure Frankfort knows the mountains matter.

At just 17, life threw Mitch a curveball when a drunk driver hit his parents. While his father survived his injuries, his mother tragically passed away.

Transitioning his personal pain into purpose, Mitch has been an active voice in his community. As Chairman of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Advisory Board of Kentucky, he has worked diligently to advocate for safer roads and responsible legislation. His legal work is always underscored by a commitment to justice.

With his beloved wife, Brandy, by his side, Mitch is deeply invested in the future of Kentucky. As he runs for State Representative as a Republican, Mitch is presenting a vision for a stronger Kentucky that serves the people who call Eastern Kentucky home.
