Bio

Heather Cloud, a Christian, mother, businesswoman and conservative, currently represents District 28 in the Louisiana State Senate. She waselected by an overwhelming majority ofvoters in October 2019 and is the first Republican to ever serve in this seat.

Heather has been happily married to Jody Cloudfor twenty years and is the proud other of two sons, Logan (17) andEthan (13), Heather has a Bachelor'sdegree in Education, and spent a short time in the classroom before entering the private sector with her husband. Heather andJody own a transportation company whichincludes a small fleet of 18-wheelers that specialize in aggregate distributions as well as heavy equipmenttransportation.

Before being elected to the Louisiana StateSenate, Heather served as the Mayor of Turkey Creek for eight years. In 2014, she overturned a mayoral electionbecause of vote buying, a battle thattook thousands of dollars and five court cases. Since then she has been instrumental in multiple pieces of election integritylegislation.

Like many of us, she is also no stranger to personal healthobstacles. Heather was diagnosed withcancer in 2017. She miraculously sailed through an extensive neck surgery, and by the grace of God, avoided the planned cancertreatments. She credits her Lord andSavior Jesus for every victory that she has experienced in both personal and governmental life.
