Bio

A 40-year resident of District 101, Vanessa Caston LaFleur is married to Brian LaFleur. She is the proud mother of Sydney Alexandra LaFleur, Brian LaFleur, II and the "bonus mom" of Breon Joi LaFleur. In 1990, Vanessa received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern University A & M College and a Juris Doctor, with honors, from Southern University Law Center in 1993. She is a 1986 graduate of Baton Rouge Magnet High School. (Go Bulldogs!) Vanessa is a retired state employee. She was the Director of the Tax Policy Services Division and former Director of the Audit Protest Bureau for the Louisiana Department of Revenue. Vanessa was also the General Counsel for the Louisiana Tax Commission and Director of the Legal Division for the Louisiana Public Service Commission, as well as a former member of the Louisiana State Board of Ethics.

With a passion for service to all, Vanessa has dedicated her career to improving the quality of life and economic opportunity not only for residents of District 101, but the entire state of Louisiana. The LaFleur family looks forward to paving the pathway for progress with our shared community at the forefront.
