BioJames Buchanan, a resident of Osprey, was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2018 and has been reelected subsequently.
Born in Michigan, Buchanan moved to Florida in 1992. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Florida State University (2001-2004) and later completed an MBA with concentrations in Management, International Business, and Advanced Finance at the University of South Florida (2008-2009).
A Protestant, Buchanan is a real estate broker by profession. He is married to Lea Buchanan of New York, and they have three children- Lexington, Caroline, and Jesse James.
In his free time, he enjoys cycling, fishing, and outdoor activities.
