Bio

State Representative Steve Demetriou is currently serving his first term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 35th House District, which encompasses southern Geauga County, south and eastern Portage County, and portions of eastern Summit County. Representative Demetriou studied economics at the United States Military Academy at West Point, graduating in 2011 with Dean's List honors and a bachelor's degree. After West Point, Demetriou was commissioned as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army.

During his time in the Army, Rep. Demetriou completed Army Ranger and Airborne training. He served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service.

After the military, Demetriou started a small business. He grew the business in just over three years from three to more than 60 employees. He now runs an investment business with his family.

Demetriou and his wife Carly, a former schoolteacher, have a one-year-old son named Steven and welcomed their second child, Teddy, in August. They are parishioners of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church where Demetriou serves on the Parish Council.
