Bio

State Representative Bill G. Schuette currently serves the people of the State of Michigan as Representative for Michigan's 95th District. He was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2022.

He serves on the House Appropriations Committee. He also serves as the Republican vice chair on the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs/Insurance and Financial Services Appropriations subcommittee and as a member on the Environment and Great Lakes Appropriations subcommittee and the Judiciary Appropriations subcommittee.

Schuette is also the Vice Chair of the House Republican Campaign Committee Schuette helping lead the statewide effort to ensure Republicans win a majority in the State House in November.

Bill G. Schuette is a lifelong Midlander. Schuette attended Midland Public Schools K-12 and graduated from Dow High School. Bill was Class President and played on the Varsity Football and Track teams. He earned his B.S and M.A. with honors from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.

Schuette then served as an Intelligence Officer for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) where he worked as one of the agency's leading counter-drug analysts and was sent to Mexico in support of U.S. Special Operations Command. In 2020, the DIA deployed Schuette to the Middle East in support of Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve, which was the U.S. military's principal counter-ISIS force.

Following his support of our counter-terror forces, Schuette returned to Midland and worked on the Public Policy team of Dow, Inc., where he identified emerging geopolitical developments and their potential impact on the company's business goals.

Schuette enjoys running, deer hunting and volunteering with the Dow High football team, his local church and the Midland Area Community Foundation.

He is a Trustee on the Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation and a member of the NRA, Right to Life of Michigan, the Michigan Farm Bureau and Midland Business Alliance.

In 2019, Bill G. was named the Intelligence Officer of the Year by the DIA's Latin America Division. With this award the DIA recognized Bill's "Commitment to Excellence in Defense of the Nation." U.S. Special Operations Command and the inter-agency team at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico presented Bill G. with an honorary plaque thanking him for his work combating the dangerous Mexican drug cartels.

Bill G. was presented with a Certificate of Service from the head of the Intelligence staff at CJTF-OIR, commending him for his dedication to the fight against ISIS while deployed by the DIA in the Middle East.
