Don Hogan is from Saint Simons Island, Georgia and represents District 179 in the House of Representatives. District 179 includes Sea Island, Saint Simons, Jekyll Island, and portions of Brunswick and South Glynn counties. Don grew up on a farm in Berrien County and attended Berrien County High School. He graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Business, and continued his education at the University of Georgia, where he graduated with a Master's Degree in Education. He is retired in the field of mental health, development disabilities, and substance abuse. He is a business owner and well known among the residents of Glynn County for his record of community involvement and civic leadership. He was elected to two terms as a Glynn County Commissioner, serving as both Chairman and Vice-Chairman during his tenure. He is a dedicated philanthropist and has served his community as a vocational rehabilitation counselor; board member of the Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce; President of the Saint Simons Chamber of Commerce; serving as area commissioner for Boy Scouts of America; Advisory council of the Costal Area Planning and Developmental Commission; Goodwill Industries and Glynn County School's Special instruction.
