Bio

Omar Blanco is a firefighter captain and legislator, serving in the Florida House of Representatives since 2024. A lifelong Miami resident, he was born on March 16 and has dedicated his career to public safety and emergency response.

Blanco is married to Carolina "Caro" Blanco, and they have two children, Kevin and Lauren. A devout Catholic, he balances his commitment to family with his work in both fire rescue and public service.

His professional experience includes participation in Urban Search and Rescue Florida Task Force One, reflecting his expertise in disaster response and emergency management. In recognition of his contributions to firefighting and public safety, he was honored as Florida Professional Firefighter of the Year in 2020.

Now in the legislature, Blanco brings his frontline experience to policymaking, advocating for public safety, emergency preparedness, and the well-being of first responders.
