The Summer Conference is held at the Roland Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, Worcester County. The annual conference draws nearly 3,000 local, state, and federal government official attendees and their families.

More than 25 continuing education sessions will be offered at the conference, featuring more than 80 speakers from the public and private sectors. The conference also hosts state agency briefings, organization meetings, and regional county meetings as well as Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) committee meetings.

An exhibit booth trade show, featuring over 250 of the best of commercial, state, and county services and products is held in two grand exhibit halls!

  • Tech Expo - Wednesday offering showcasing deep-dive technology-focused sessions and a special one-day-only trade show of technology vendors.
  • Crab Feast - THE place to see and be seen at MACo's Summer Conference - all-you-can-eat Crab Feast with a band, clown, and plenty of people to talk to (about 1,000).
  • Governor's Closing Address - MACo's Summer Conference traditionally ends on Saturday with an address from the Governor about his plans and perspective for the upcoming General Assembly Session.
At this time, MACo is planning an in-person Summer Conference with reduced capacity and stringent safety protocols. The MACo Conference Planning Committee will re-evaluate this plan as needed. Contact Virginia White for more information.
MACo is strictly a non-partisan organization and does not allow any type of political campaigning at its conferences and events.
