Overview
The Fundamentals of Prosecution Course is specifically designed to prepare newly-hired Assistant District Attorneys and Assistant Solicitors-General to make the transition from law student to prosecutor. It is the Continuing Legal Education component of the Transition Into Prosecution program and meets all the requirements for newly admitted lawyers under Rule 8-104 of the State Bar of Georgia (Transition Into Law Practice Program). Students who attend the Fundamentals of Prosecution Course and participate in the mentoring component will acquire "the practical skills, judgment and professional values necessary to practice law in a highly competent manner" required of the public prosecutor. 

Dates & Location
The Fundamentals of Prosecution Course is scheduled to begin at 12:30 noon on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 and will conclude at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 15, 2019.  The course will be held at the office of the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council, located at 1590 Adamson Parkway, Fourth Floor, Morrow, Georgia 30260

Lodging and Reimbursement
You are responsible for making your own hotel reservation.  Please contact the Holiday Inn & Suites Hotel in Stockbridge at 1.866.301.8375 and use code PFP you may also make your reservation at Fundamentals of Prosecution- PAC Hotel. Room rates will be $94.00 per night for a double queen and $101 per night for a king.  Lodging, meals, and mileage will be reimbursed to state paid employees. Lodging and meals will be reimbursed to county paid employees. PAC will cover up to $94 per night for lodging.
Eligibility
Prosecutors admitted to practice in the State of Georgia on or after July 1, 2005, who are participating in the Transition Into Prosecution Program (ILLP), are required to attend Fundamentals of Prosecution as part of their mentoring plan.

    The registration for this course ends on October 31, 2019. The registration fee is $200.00. This fee covers both your registration fee and your CLE fees.  There are 14.00 total CLE hours offered for this training course including ethics and professionalism hours.
