The Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia invites prosecutors and law enforcement to attend the Approaches & Trends in White Collar Prosecutions Webinar on Friday, May 8, 2020 from 10:00am to 11:00am. It offers 1 CLE and/or POST hour.

Description of this Training:

This webinar will focus on the key elements of charging a successful fraud “white collar” case, including the basic building blocks of Georgia’s theft statutes and the more robust racketeering (RICO) statute.  We will discuss emerging fraud trends which are hurting governments and private sector businesses.  Email and internet scams will be discussed.  And some best practices for analyzing and proving fraud will be covered.

Presenting on this topic will be Mr. David McLaughlin, Assistant District Attorney from the Coweta Judicial Circuit.

CLE: Please note the CLE credit will fall under the in-house/self-study rule. The rule has a six hour maximum on CLE credits (increased to 12 for 2019). A webinar falls in the same category as a video review. The supreme Court of Georgia allowed ALL 2019 CLE hours to be completed by approved in-house or distance learning seminars.
