The Prosecuting Attorneys' Council of Georgia invites prosecutors and law enforcement to attend an Case Preparation and Courtroom Presentation for Law Enforcement Webinar on Thursday, April 30, 2020 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. It offers 2 CLE and/or POST hour.

Case Preparation and Courtroom Presentation for LE - Understanding the Basics to be an Effective Investigator and Courtroom Witness

Description of Training:

Law enforcement’s responsibility is to serve and protect. This includes responding to calls, enforcing laws, and make arrests. It is also a part of law enforcement’s job to sometimes be called to go to court and testify. However, the thought of being on the witness stand, interrogated and cross-examined may seem daunting. It is not enough that you’ve done your job on scene….you still need to prove that you’ve done so correctly and proficiently.

Jessica provides a detailed end-to-end rundown of the guidelines to remember in the event that one is called to testify to court for a case they’ve handled. Some of the specifics she will delve into include: Case preparation tips, on-scene preparation, courtroom presentation and dealing with the defense attorney.

CLE, POST, & Advocate:
CLE: Please note the CLE credit will fall under the in-house/self-study rule. The rule has a six hour maximum on CLE credits (increased to 12 for 2019). A webinar falls in the same category as a video review. The supreme Court of Georgia allowed ALL 2019 CLE hours to be completed by approved in-house or distance learning seminars. The deadline for this is April 30, 2020. If you are requesting CLE hours, there is a $4 charge. Please mail the CLE form and the check to PAC.

POST: We are excited to now offer POST credit through webinars! In order to receive POST credit for this webinar, you must listen to the webinar live not review the recorded version. We are asked to take attendance at the start and the end of the session to show who is on the call. You must sign in with your first and last name to receive credit and be present for the entire webinar.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact the Training Team at Thank you.
