The Fundamentals of Prosecution Course is specifically designed to prepare newly-hired Assistant District Attorneys and Assistant Solicitors-General to make the transition from law student to prosecutor. It is the Continuing Legal Education component of the Transition Into Prosecution program and meets all the requirements for newly admitted lawyers under Rule 8-104 of the State Bar of Georgia (Transition Into Law Practice Program). Students who attend the Fundamentals of Prosecution Course and participate in the mentoring component will acquire "the practical skills, judgment and professional values necessary to practice law in a highly competent manner" required of the public prosecutor.

Special note to offices who have hired an assistant district attorney or assistant solicitor-general who graduated in 2019. If this does not apply to your office, please disregard. The 2019 graduates have until the end of this year to complete the TILPP. If an ADA or ASG started with your office last year and they were unable to attend this course in 2019, please have them contact Kellyn McGee, Director over the TILPP, to ask for an extension. Kellyn can be reached by email at kellynm@gabar.org or tilpp@gabar.org.
