Agenda: Coming soon!

2022 is right around the corner which means our newest course, Gang Cases: From the Crime Scene to the Courtroom, is back for a second time! This is not your typical lecture-based conference. Yes, there will be lectures, but there will also be a hands-on exercise that takes you through the phases of a gang investigation and trial. This course is brought to you by the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council along with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.

Let's look a little deeper into this week-long course and what you can expect as an attendee:
Gang Cases “From the Crime Scene to the Courtroom” is a hands-on and interactive course. Under the direction of seasoned Gang Investigators and Gang Prosecutors, students will conduct the critical phases of a Gang Investigation and trial – from the crime scene to the courtroom.

The course partners gang investigators and prosecutors as a team, with the challenging task of working through a simulated gang case such as DTO/cartel crimes, human/sex trafficking and other criminal gang activity that features responding to and processing a crime scene, interviewing of individuals, applying for a search warrant, constructing an investigative report, case preparation, and evidence presentation. Students will benefit from hands-on training as well as lectures on various critical topics that include:

  • The Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act
  • Methods of Establishing “Nexus”
  • Gang Search Warrants & Affidavits
  • Social Media
  • Interviewing and Interrogation Techniques
  • Evidence and Expert Witness Presentation
  • Pretrial Motions
*Please note these lectures will be a refresher to assist with the exercise portion of the course. They are not meant to be a 101.*

Here is some of the feedback we received from our last Gang Cases course:
"This was an excellent course. I loved the hands on realism of the scenarios and mock trials"
"This training was amazing"
"Having not gone through Basic, this was the best training I've been to in my 6 years as an attorney in Georgia."

Didn't we mention above that this wasn't your typical lecture-based conference? We hope you are as excited as we are! With limited space, we encourage you to go ahead and register to be considered as an attendee for this course. Registration does not mean acceptance into the course.
Individuals who are accepted into this course will be notified no later than February 11, 2022. Please do not send in your registration payment until you have been accepted into the course.

STOP! Before you complete the registration, we are looking for these qualifications... This course is open to Prosecutors and Law Enforcement officers who currently handle gang cases. This is an advanced course, so we are asking that applicants have 3+ years of experience handling gang cases.

The registration fee will be $225 for this course. Unfortunately at this time, we will not be offering any meal, lodging, or mileage reimbursement.
