Course Description

Diversion Programs

Speakers: Honorable John Adams - District Attorney, Berks County
Edward McCann, Esquire - First Assistant District Attorney, Montgomery County

This presentation will focus on several diversion programs that target different groups of offenders. We will hear about both the successes and challenges of such programs, how particular programs target those with specific needs, and how district attorneys’ offices can safely expand or enhance their already existing programs in ways that will promote public safety, save taxpayer dollars, and keep families together.

Speakers: Honorable David Sunday - District Attorney, York County
Derek Cohen, Ph.D. - Director of the Right on Crime, Texas Public Policy Foundation

In this presentation, the presenters will highlight why reentry matters, what data supports reentry programs, why reentry coalitions are helpful, and how reentry ultimately keeps families and communities together. We will hear about specific reentry programs and coalitions that have had positive results and that are replicable.

This free Web Based Training is available to all members of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association from May 4, 2021 through December 16, 2021. Submit your email address above to register today.
