BioRepresentative Dale Washburn represents House District 144, which includes Jasper County, as
well as portions of Bibb, Jones, Monroe and Putnam counties. He was elected to The Georgia
House of Representatives in 2018 and began his service in January of 2019.
He was educated in the Jones County Public School System and at Macon State College. In
pursing his career in the real estate business, he continued his education by obtaining the
education required to hold a Georgia Real Estate Brokers License and a Georgia Real Estate
Licensing Instructors License. He has taught Real Estate Licensing and Continuing Education
Courses for several years and has authored two textbooks and several Continuing Education
Courses. He continues to be an active real estate broker and consultant.
Dale has been active in the REALTOR organization and was named The Georgia REALTOR of
the Year in 2004 and is a member of The Georgia REALTOR Hall of Fame.
Before being elected to The Georgia House of Representatives, he was the Vice Chairman of The
Jones County Commission where he focused on modernizing the county land use plan and
expanding the county water system.
He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Regulated Industries Committee. He also serves on
the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health, Banks & Banking, Creative Arts & Entertainment,
Higher Education, Public & Community Health and Ways & Means committees.
Dale has been married to his high school sweetheart, Donna, for 49 years. They have four adult
children and six grandchildren. They also have a mixed breed dog, Roscoe, that was rescued
from a terrible situation and now enjoys a happy, secure life.
They are active members of the Ingleside Baptist Church in Macon, where he has led Adult
Bible Study for many years.
Dale considers it an honor and a great blessing to be a member of The Georgia House of
Representatives and devotes a lot of time and energy to his legislative work. He has successfully
carried different types of legislation but always is concerned about housing and improvement to
the Georgia Ad Valorem taxation system. He has Chaired Study Committees on both of these issues and continues to study both areas and give thought to potential legislation that would
make a positive impact for Georgians.
