BioSenator Brian Strickland, a Republican, has served in the
Georgia State Senate since 2018. He represents Senate
District 42, which includes Morgan County and portions
of Henry, Newton and Walton counties.Sen. Strickland serves as Chairman of the Senate
Committee on Judiciary and is a member of the Senate
Committees on Appropriations, Banking and Financial
Institutions, Ethics, and Health and Human Services. He
is also an Ex-Officio member of the Senate Committees
on Children and Families and Public Safety.Sen. Strickland's is a former State Representative, serving as a Governor's Administration Floor Leader for both
Gov. Nathan Deal and Gov. Brian Kemp. Additionally, Sen. Strickland served as Chairman of the Industry and
Labor Committee and was appointed to serve as one of Georgia's first commissioners to the Uniform Law
Commission from 2015 to present. Sen. Strickland was also chosen as the 2016 Legislator of the Year by the
Georgia Solicitor General's Association and awarded the 2016 Champions of Cities Award by the Georgia
Municipal Association, and he has received numerous recognitions for his work on issues concerning criminal
justice and mental health. Sen. Strickland was also selected to serve in the Leadership Georgia Class of 2022. Sen. Strickland is a 2006 graduate of Valdosta State University with a B.B.A in Economics. He received his Juris
Doctor in 2009 from the Florida Coastal School of Law where he currently serves on the alumni board. Sen. Strickland practices law in McDonough at Smith, Welch, Webb & White. He is actively involved in the
community through his church, McDonough Presbyterian Church, and previously served as the President of the
Henry County Kiwanis Club. He is married to Lindsay Perdue Strickland and has two sons, Charles Willis and
Beecher.
