Bio

Birthday- August 18 Spouse- Kari Senator John Albers, a Republican, has served in the Georgia State Senate since 2011. He represents Senate District 56, which includes portions of Cherokee, Cobb and Fulton counties.

GEORGIA'S 56TH SENATE DISTRICT Sen. Albers serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Safety and Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance. He is also a member of the Senate Committees on Appropriations, Rules and Urban Affairs, and he is an Ex-Officio member of the Senate Committees on Government Oversight and Regulated Industries and Utilities.

Sen. Albers has long been an active member of his community. His affiliations include numerous boards of directors for business, civic and charitable organizations. Formerly, Senator Albers served as a fourthgeneration firefighter.

Sen. Albers is an organ donor and gave a kidney to his son in 2021. After the donation, Senator Albers passed the Giving the Gift of Life Act and became a national advocate for organ donation.

Sen. Albers earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Louisville. Albers also graduated from the University of Georgia's Legislative Leadership Institute and the Cybersecurity program at Harvard University. When not attending to state business, Senator Albers is an executive, business owner and entrepreneur. He and his wife, Kari, have been married for 32 years, have two sons and are active members of their church.
