Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis

This class is for you!  Come and learn about the foundations of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and how these principles can be applied in your classroom. The Marcus Autism Center consultants will help you in understanding how to conduct a functional behavior assessment and talk to parents regarding the ABA model in the classroom setting. 

 In this session, the trainees will develop the following skills as a result of active participation in this training:

• Understand the foundations of ABA

• Understand the functions of behavior

• Learn to apply the principles of ABA in the classroom

• Ability to answer parent questions about how ABA is applied in the classroom

Target Audience: Teachers who teach in self-contained classes, Autism Classes, Intellectual Disabilities/ACCESS classes.  

*Intro to ABA is a pre-requisite for ABA Part 2 - Skills Acquisition and ABA Part 3 - Behavior Reduction*

Active Participation is required. Please expect to participate in conversations during this workshop. Trainees will be expected to respond to questions, and you may be asked to role play in order to practice the strategies taught during the training.

 

Tuition fee is for materials and refreshments for out of region participants.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received by the registration deadline. Any cancellations received after the deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be returned. If cancellation is not made and registrant does not attend the course, the status will be "No Show" and payment will still be required.
