Course Description

Cultural Responsiveness: Beginning the Conversation on Race and Equity

How can we address achievement gaps in our schools?

How can we become more culturally responsive in our growingly diverse schools?

What can I do to ensure equity in my school and classroom?

Join West Georgia RESA for a new series where we will begin having critical conversations about race and equity. This group will examine  Closing the Attitude Gap by Baruti Kafele and Even on Your Worst Day, You Can Be Your Student’s Best Hope by Manny Scott. West Georgia RESA staff will serve as facilitators for the four-part book study.

Class Notes

Even on Your Worst Day, You Can Be A Student's Best Hope must be read prior to the November 27 meeting. The book will be mailed to your home address once payment is received. Email Kerri Felder at with mailing address.

  • You are also invited to join us June 6th (8:30-11:30, Location: Carroll County Performing Arts Center - 775 Old Newnan Rd, Carrollton, GA 30116) for a Presentation and Book Talk with Baruti Kafele, author of Closing the Attitude Gap. This session is optional. Lunch will be provided for participants that would like to attend.
