Become an Advocate

We Need You!

We are seeking members of the traumatic brain and spinal cord injury community to shape and impact policies, services, and practices.

Our goal is to identify grassroots advocates for each of Georgia's 13 Congressional Districts.  We want to create a network of more than 200 people across the state who can educate elected officials and others about our concerns.

More people need to understand what it means to live with an injury. Be willing to share your story.

Here's what Advocates do:

Being an Advocate is easy.  You get to:

  • Advise the Commission on public policy issues

  • Educate local elected officials and others about issues and policies important to members of  the traumatic brain and spinal injury communities

  • Participate in special annual events such as Disability Day at the state Capitol. (Visit the Disability Day Web site or call 1-888-ASK-GCDD for information.

If you'd like to do more:

In addition to the activities above, you can:

  • Identify and recruit other advocates in your district

  • Work with the Commission to coordinate and implement district-wide activities

To learn more, call us toll-free at 1-888-233-5760
