History of Paws Patrol
Founded by Marty Harris in 1997 with her rescue dog, Hero. Paws Patrol-Pet Partners, Inc. is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization. We are a group of volunteers and their pets that promote physical, emotional and psychological healing through the human-animal bond. If you and your pet love people and want to improve lives in your community through the gift of your time, read on for volunteer information. Paws Patrol is a Community Partner and proud to represent Pet Partners ®, also a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and the leading authority in Animal Assisted Interventions since 1977, with over 15,000 teams nationwide. We accompany our animal teammates to visit those who are sick, lonely, ill or disabled. Through their unconditional love and acceptance, the animals have brought smiles to autistic children's faces, affection to the lonely in nursing homes, and the will to interact to the disabled. The Pet Partners ® program tests and registers human-animal teams, qualifying them to serve in hospitals, nursing homes, schools and treatment centers. Both the animals and the volunteers must be trained, screened and pass a 22-part evaluation from a licensed evaluator prior to taking part in AAI/AAT/AAE. Evaluations are required every two years to assure our clients that we are willing to do whatever it takes to prove that we represent the best of the best! |
