SUMMARY:  LC 49 0561S

The purpose of the original bill was to change the name of the Office of College and Career Transitions to the Office of College and Career Academies.  It also added "technical skill development" to the definition of certification. It requires the Technical College System to collaborate with the Workforce Development Board and the Department of Economic Development to support the efforts of the academies and local economic development partners to assist in the recruitment of new industries and to expand existing industries by, but not limited to, demonstrating the preparation of technically skilled high school graduates to be ready to work.

The bill has been amended to attach other non-relevant bills.
